Tor
Tor Browser and Omega Market
Using Tor Browser with Omega Market requires specific configuration to keep your privacy. Standard browsers leak DNS requests and IP addresses instantly. You must run the .onion addresses inside the Tor network only.
Setup
- Download Tor Browser from torproject.org directly, never from app stores.
- Install the latest stable version to patch recent vulnerabilities.
- Enable automatic updates to keep the newest encryption protocols.
- Do not install extensions like ad blockers or script managers.
- Restart the browser after each update to apply the new circuit.
The security slider
The security slider controls how much functionality the browser allows. Higher levels block scripts and media files to prevent fingerprinting. This raises privacy but can break certain elements on complex sites.
Setting it to "Safest" blocks JavaScript, which Omega Market needs for its interface. In that mode the login form and order buttons stop working. Allowing JavaScript also exposes you to side-channel attacks. Keep the default "Standard" level for daily use and move up only when a specific page needs it.
