What a key rotation changes

When a key rotation happens, the onion address changes completely. The old string stops working immediately. Any bookmark saved with the previous address becomes useless. It points to nothing now. You must replace it with the new string found on this page.

Your account does not change. Your wallet balance, order history, and vendor relationships stay exactly where they were. The underlying data structure remains attached to your user profile, not the domain name. Think of it as moving into a new house while keeping the same furniture and photos. The room changes, but the contents persist.

The new address is published here as soon as the switch completes. Checking manually over Tor takes about two minutes. Wait for the announcement before trying to log in. Rushing leads to failed connections because the old infrastructure is still shutting down. Patience saves the hassle of debugging a half-finished transition.
